1. Purpose
These Terms of Use (« Terms ») govern the use of the Shivim service, available at shivim.ai, published by Jérémy G.
2. Acceptance of the Terms
Use of the service implies full and unreserved acceptance of these Terms. If you do not accept these conditions, you must refrain from using the service. Creating an account constitutes express acceptance.
We reserve the right to modify the Terms at any time. Substantial changes will be notified to you by email at least 15 days before they take effect. The current version is always available on this page, dated at the top.
3. Description of the service
Shivim is a digital Torah-study assistant powered by artificial intelligence. In particular, it offers:
- a chat that answers your questions on the Tanakh, the Talmud, the classical commentaries (Rashi, Ramban, Rambam, Tosafot…) and Jewish thought, citing its sources;
- a Ḥavruta mode allowing you to study over video with several people alongside an AI partner, and to record the session to replay it later;
- a secure Kids mode for children aged 6 to 12;
- an optional weekly report summarizing your week of study.
The service is provided « as is » and evolves regularly. We reserve the right to add, modify or remove features without notice, provided this does not substantially degrade the core features of an ongoing Premium subscription.
4. User account
4.1. Conditions for creation
- You must be at least 15 years old (the legal age of digital consent in France); between 13 and 15, parental authorization is required.
- You provide a valid email address and a strong password.
- You warrant the accuracy of the information provided.
- One identity per natural person: creating multiple accounts to circumvent the free quotas is prohibited.
4.2. Account security
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential. We recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) available in the settings. If you suspect a compromise, contact us immediately at support@shivim.ai.
5. Acceptable use
By using Shivim, you undertake not to:
- attempt to circumvent technical limits (quotas, rate-limiting, access control to paid features);
- use the service to generate or disseminate illegal, hateful, defamatory, pornographic content, content inciting violence or undermining human dignity;
- carry out scraping, mass extraction or resale of AI-generated content;
- attempt to jailbreak or prompt the model to produce responses contrary to the rules above;
- use the service to train other AI models;
- impersonate a third party or create an account in someone else's name without their consent;
- disrupt the operation of the service (DoS attacks, injection, exploitation of vulnerabilities).
6. Artificial intelligence disclaimers
Shivim relies on artificial intelligence models. Although our answers are enriched by a source retrieval and verification system, and designed to cite their references, the AI may occasionally:
- produce an incomplete, imprecise or erroneous answer;
- cite a reference that is approximate but not strictly exact;
- reflect biases inherent in the training data.
You are encouraged to verify the sources via the Sefaria links provided in each answer, in particular for any citation you intend to use publicly.
7. No halakhic ruling
Shivim does not issue halakhic rulings. The service presents sources, opinions and perspectives for studypurposes. For any practical question of Jewish law (kashrut, Shabbat, family laws, conversion, etc.), consult a qualified rabbi. We disclaim all responsibility for the use of information for the purposes of psak halakha.
8. Ḥavruta mode
- Audio or video recording of a Ḥavruta session is never enabled without the explicit consent of the host; the other participants are informed of it visually.
- Recordings belong to the session host, who can delete them at any time from « My Ḥavrutas ».
- Using Ḥavruta mode to record a person without their consent is strictly prohibited and engages your personal liability.
- A public Sefaria sheet may be generated automatically from a session; you remain in control of its publication and may delete it.
9. Kids mode
Kids mode is intended for children aged 6 to 12, under the responsibility of a logged-in parent. You (the parent) warrant that you will:
- provide a supervision environment suited to the child's age;
- protect the parental PIN code and not share it with the child;
- obtain the consent of the other parent where applicable.
Kids mode displays no advertising and applies strict filtering of sensitive content. No commercial data is collected about children.
10. Your content and licenses
10.1. Your content
You retain ownership of any content you provide (questions, files, comments in Ḥavruta, etc.). You grant us a non-exclusive, free and limited license to use this content solely to provide you with the service (transmission to AI models, storage, display).
10.2. AI-generated responses
The responses produced by Shivim are made available to you for your personal study use. You may copy, cite or share them, provided you mention the source (Shivim) when distributing them publicly. You may not use these responses to train third-party AI models.
10.3. Public sharing of a conversation
If you generate a public link to share a conversation, it becomes accessible to anyone with the URL. You can revoke it at any time from your account area.
11. Sanctions and suspension
In the event of a serious breach of these Terms, and in particular of the acceptable use rules (article 5), we reserve the right, without notice:
- to remove the offending content;
- to temporarily suspend access to the service;
- to terminate your account;
- to report the conduct to the competent authorities where it is liable to constitute a criminal offence.
In the event of a suspension related to abusive use (circumventing the free quotas, scraping, jailbreak), no refund is due for the period concerned.
12. Liability
Shivim is provided with reasonable care but without any guarantee of being free from interruption or error. Our liability is limited to proven direct damages, within the maximum limits permitted by law. The following are notably excluded:
- indirect damages (loss of data, loss of profit);
- the consequences of a halakhic ruling based on the service (cf. article 7);
- the consequences of using AI responses without verifying the sources;
- failures of technical subcontractors (host, AI providers, etc.);
- cases of force majeure.
For Premium users, our total liability may not exceed the amount of the sums paid in respect of the last 12 months.
13. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time from your My account area. Deletion entails:
- the immediate closure of access to the service;
- the deletion within 30 days of your conversations, Ḥavrutas and personal data, except for legal retention obligations (billing, fraud);
- the immediate cancellation of any ongoing Premium subscription, in accordance with the Sales Terms.
The 7-day free trial may be cancelled at any time free of charge. The 30-day « satisfied or refunded » guarantee applies to paid subscriptions under the conditions specified in the Sales Terms.
14. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by French law. Any dispute relating to their interpretation or performance will be submitted, failing an amicable resolution, to the competent courts of the jurisdiction of Jérémy G's registered office, subject to the public-order rules protecting the consumer.
In accordance with articles L. 612-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, the consumer has the option to use, free of charge, a consumer mediator in the event of a dispute not resolved after a prior written complaint to our services. In the absence of an amicable settlement, and before referring the matter to a mediator, the consumer may use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform below.
