1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. It stores useful information (for example, keeping a login session active) or, in some cases, measures audience.
This policy also covers the other local storage mechanisms used by the browser (localStorage, sessionStorage) as well as any cookies set by third-party sites we integrate.
2. Our minimalist approach
Shivim uses no advertising cookies and no behavioral analytics tools. We set only the cookies and storage entries strictly necessary for the service. No “marketing” cookies, no tracking pixels, no third-party A/B testing tools.
Authentication does not rely on session cookies: a login identifier is stored locally by your browser, exclusively for the domain shivim.ai, and is not shared with any third party.
3. Cookies and storage used
Strictly necessary cookies and storage
Essential to the operation of the service: login, language, preferences. You cannot refuse them without preventing use of the site.

4. Cookies set by third-party sites
For certain features, we integrate services from technical subprocessors that may set their own cookies, within the following scopes only:
- Payment — only when you make a payment or a sponsorship: anti-fraud and payment-session cookies, set by our payment provider.
- Video conferencing — only during a video Ḥavrouta session, to establish the connection. No persistent trace beyond the session.
- Anti-bot verification at sign-up — only on the account-creation page, to block bots and ensure the security of the service. Essential to creating an account; this cookie is set only when you start a sign-up.
- Typography fonts — for rendering the interface; no identifying information beyond standard loading. This category can be disabled.
We do not control the cookies set by these third parties; they are governed by their own privacy policies. Essential third-party cookies are loaded only when you yourself trigger the relevant feature (payment, video, sign-up). Optional cookies (fonts) can be refused at any time via the consent banner. The detailed list of the subprocessors involved is available on request at support@shivim.ai.
5. Managing consent
On your first visit, a banner lets you accept or refuse optional cookies. Your choices are stored for 6 months and can be changed at any time from:
- the button above;
- your browser settings, which let you block or delete cookies on all sites.
Refusing essential cookies would make the service unusable (no login possible) and would prevent account creation, payment, or use of the video Ḥavrouta. Refusing optional cookies has no functional impact: only the typographic rendering of the interface is slightly altered.
6. Retention period
- Session cookies: deleted when the browser is closed.
- Local storage: persistent until manual deletion or reset from your account.
- Cookie preferences: kept for 6 months, after which the banner reappears.
- Third-party cookies: refer to the respective privacy policies of the subprocessors concerned (list available on request).
